New Mexico state statutes require residents to attend any NMDPS-approved Concealed Handgun License course, taught by a DPS-approved instructor, in order to carry a concealed handgun within this state. Failing to obtain a CHL permit prior to carrying may result in a charge of unlawful carry of a deadly weapon, a petty misdemeanor that can land you six months in jail.
Concealed Handgun: 21
NRA Courses: 11 if accompanied by a responsible adult
Emergency Medical: 13 if accompanied by a responsible adult
You may if you choose, but Graycat Tactical provides semiautos in 9mm, 10mm, and .45 ACP and a revolver in .38/.357 for students to qualify with for CHL courses but they must provide their own factory ammunition.
For NRA courses, we provide .22LR pistols and ammo for students to qualify with.
No, .22 for CHL is not allowed. Per New Mexico state statutes, the minimum caliber needed to qualify with is .32 while the maximum is .50.
No, if you wish to conceal carry a revolver, you must shoot a second course of fire with a revolver in a qualifying caliber.
